G.O.R.K. (God Only Really Knows)
God only really knows who the man behind the name is. Gork, an acronym meaning: God Only really Knows/Guidance Over Righteous Kingdoms/God or King ?(you decide,), and much more labeled synonyms. It is a self-driven name and the person behind the name is self-driven like K.I.T.T without Michael Knight.
Gork has often considered his self a unique individual. Why? It seems that Gork has always had a way with communicating his words, feelings, and expressions. Whether it was school plays, m.c. battles, art class, or just plain old character role playing in the mirror, people enjoy his knack with words that aptitude his melodramatic undertone/satire of comedy, reality, fantasy, and therapeutic innovative skills in performances. Definitely, he is one of a kind.
Gork was born in Illinois and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Gork grew up all over The Greater Cleveland area because of transitions from group homes to foster care. Gork has performed at several venues throughout Cleveland Ohio. Some of these venues are The Humidor, Spy Bar Peabody’s, Grog Shop, B-Sides and many schools, universities, and colleges throughout Ohio.
Gork’s specialty is performance art poetry, speaking(rapping), Hip Hop, graphic arts, painting, dancing, and many types of mediums and medias to express his dedication to art. Gork moved to The Bay Area in 1998-2004. He has been in a few grassroots collectives art gropus such as US(united souls)/DJ Spindler, Ami's Café, UrbArt(BushaMama), and also performed @ venues like Black Box, Black Dot, and live street performances in the surrounding tri-cities( San Francisco, Berkley and Oakland). Relocating himself in Atlanta, Ga , Gork has hosted a few venues of open mic poetry but not enough to make him feel at home. So that sparked the idea of coming home to recharge his energy for more national work needed for exposure.
Presently, Gork has moved back to his roots, Cleveland to acquire past goals he needed to achieve in order to be successful in his crafts. While achieving some but not all goals yet, he has recorded his first solo album entitled FATHOM on the Cleveland Tapes label, produced by Ereact, RA Washington, and his self. Within his short time back he is now a member of Full Moon Production, Needle and Groove, and DJQuest95.com. DJ Quest95 has taken Gork under his tutelage evolving him for doing promoting, marketing, and just being the artist that he is. They say you cannot have a tree without roots, so being back at the root of it all where he started perfecting his craft, just might be the base for helping him extend his branches outward to the rest of the world.
